मौसलोत्पत्तिः — The Birth of the Musala and the Sages’ Pronouncement
उदयास्तमने नित्यं पुर्या तस्यां दिवाकर: । व्यदृश्यतासकृत् पुम्भि: कबन्धै: परिवारित:,उस नगरीमें रहनेवाले लोगोंको उदय और अस्तके समय सूर्यदेव प्रतिदिन बारंबार कबन्धोंसे घिरे दिखायी देते थे
udayāstamane nityaṃ puryāṃ tasyāṃ divākaraḥ | vyadṛśyatāsakṛt pumbhiḥ kabandhaiḥ parivāritaḥ ||
वैशंपायन म्हणाले—त्या नगरीत दररोज सूर्योदय व सूर्यास्ताच्या वेळी लोकांना सूर्यदेव वारंवार असे दिसत, जणू कबंधांनी—शिरोहीन धडांनी—त्यांना वेढले आहे. हे घोर अनिष्टाचे लक्षण होते; विनाश आणि व्यवस्था-भंगाची चाहूल देणारे।
