दोनोंके कर्म विख्यात थे। युद्धमें पुरुषार्थ और बलकी दृष्टिसे दोनों ही शम्बरासुर और देवराज इन्द्रके समान थे ।।
kārtavīrya-samau cobhau tathā dāśaratheḥ samau | viṣṇu-vīrya-samau cobhau tathā bhava-samau yudhi ||
संजय म्हणाला—दोघांची कीर्ती त्यांच्या कर्मांमुळे प्रसिद्ध होती. रणात पुरुषार्थ व बल यांत ते शंबरासुर व देवराज इंद्रासारखे होते. युद्धात ते दोघेही कार्तवीर्य अर्जुनासमान, दाशरथी श्रीरामासमान, विष्णूसमान पराक्रमी आणि भव (शंकर) यांच्यासमान होते.
