उभौ विश्लुतकर्माणौ पौरुषेण बलेन च | उभौ च सदृशौ युद्धे शम्बरामरराजयो:
ubhau viśluta-karmāṇau pauruṣeṇa balena ca | ubhau ca sadṛśau yuddhe śambarāmararājayoḥ ||
संजय म्हणाला—दोघांची कृत्ये जणू आवरात राहिली नव्हती; पुरुषार्थ व बल यात ते परस्पर सम होते. रणांगणी ते असे भासत होते, जणू शंबरासुर आणि देवराज इंद्र समोरासमोर उभे आहेत.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how, when warriors abandon restraint and commit fully to combat, the contest becomes a test of sheer prowess and strength; it also cautions that unbridled action (viśluta-karman) intensifies violence and its consequences.
Sañjaya describes two opposing fighters as evenly matched in valor and power, using a mythic comparison: their clash resembles the legendary confrontation between the asura Śambara and Indra, the king of the gods.
