Śaineya’s Breakthrough and Reunion with Arjuna (शैनेयस्य समागमः)

शक्ति विनिहतां दृष्टवा भीमश्लुक्रोध वै भूशम्‌

sañjaya uvāca | śakti-vinihatāṃ dṛṣṭvā bhīmaślukrodho vai bhūśam | apanīṃ śaktiṃ kaṭīṃ huīṃ dṛṣṭvā bhīmaseno mahān krodhaṃ jagāma | sa mahāṭaṅkāra-dhvaniṃ dvitīyaṃ vegavantaṃ dhanuḥ pāṇinā gṛhītvā samara-aṅgaṇe kupitaḥ kṛtavarmāṇaṃ samabhidadhe ||

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how quickly righteous resolve can slide into consuming anger in wartime. It implicitly warns that even when duty demands combat, the ethical challenge is to act with steadiness and discernment rather than being driven solely by rage.

Bhima sees his spear rendered useless (cut down/struck down). Enraged, he takes up another powerful, fast bow that resounds loudly and moves to face Kritavarman on the battlefield, signaling an imminent clash.
