Sāttvika-vṛtta-kathana (Brahmā on the Conduct of Sattva) — Chapter 38
प्रकीर्तिता: सत्त्वगुणा विशेषतो यथाददुक्तं गुणवृत्तमेव च । नरस्तु यो वेद गुणानिमान् सदा गुणान् स भुड्धक्ते न गुणैः स युज्यते
prakīrtitāḥ sattvaguṇā viśeṣato yathādaduktaṃ guṇavṛttam eva ca | naras tu yo veda guṇān imān sadā guṇān sa bhuṅkte na guṇaiḥ sa yujyate ||
वायू म्हणाला—सत्त्वगुणांचे विशेषतः वर्णन केले आहे आणि गुणांची वृत्तीही यथावत सांगितली आहे. जो मनुष्य या गुणांना सदा जाणतो, तो गुणांचे फल भोगतो; पण त्यांच्यामुळे बांधला जात नाही—तो गुणांचा उपभोग घेतो, तरी त्यांना जखडत नाही.
