भीष्म उवाच विज्ञाय यातुधानीं तां कृत्यामृषिवधैषिणीम्‌ । अत्रि: क्षुधापरीतात्मा ततो वचनमत्रवीत्‌

Transliteration

bhīṣma uvāca vijñāya yātudhānīṃ tāṃ kṛtyām ṛṣivadhaiṣiṇīm | atriḥ kṣudhāparītātmā tato vacanam abravīt ||

Translation

भीष्म म्हणाले—“राजन्! तिचे बोलणे ऐकून महर्षी अत्रींनी ओळखले की ही यातुधानी—ऋषिवधाची इच्छा बाळगणारी कृत्या—आहे. तरीही भुकेने अंतःकरण व्याकुळ झाल्याने अत्रींनी मग हे वचन उच्चारले.”
