Austerity, regulated fasting, residual-eating, and hospitality
ये च भाष्यविद: केचिद् ये च व्याकरणे रता: । अधीयते पुराण ये धर्मशास्त्राण्यथापि च
bhīṣma uvāca | ye ca bhāṣyavidaḥ kecid ye ca vyākaraṇe ratāḥ | adhīyate purāṇe ye dharmaśāstrāṇy athāpi ca ||
भीष्म म्हणाले—जे भाष्यांचे जाणकार आहेत, जे व्याकरणात रत आहेत, जे पुराणे व धर्मशास्त्रे अध्ययन करतात—असे विद्या व सदाचारसंपन्न ब्राह्मण केवळ आपल्या सान्निध्यानेही इतरांना पवित्र करतात.
