गाव: पवित्रा: पुण्याश्व॒ पावनं परमं महत् | ताश्च दत्त्वा द्विजातिभ्यो नर: स्वर्गमुपाशुते
gāvaḥ pavitrāḥ puṇyāśva pāvanaṁ paramaṁ mahat | tāś ca dattvā dvijātibhyo naraḥ svargam upāśnute ||
गायी परम पावन, पवित्र व पुण्यस्वरूप आहेत; त्या अत्यंत महान् पावनकारक आहेत. त्या द्विजांना (विशेषतः ब्राह्मणांना) दान केल्यास मनुष्य स्वर्गसुख भोगतो.
