Go-mahātmyam: Pavitrāṇāṃ Pavitraṃ
Cows and Ghee as Supreme Purifiers
स गतस्तस्य तृप्तिं तु गन्धं सुरभिमुद्विरन् । ददर्शोद्वारसंवृत्तां सुरभिं मुखजां सुताम्
sa gatastasyāḥ tṛptiṁ tu gandhaṁ surabhim udviran | dadarśa udvāra-saṁvṛttāṁ surabhīṁ mukhajāṁ sutām ||
अमृत प्राशन करून ते पूर्ण तृप्त झाले तेव्हा त्यांच्या मुखातून मनोहर सुरभि सुगंध निघू लागला. त्या सुगंधासह ‘सुरभि’ नावाची गौ प्रकट झाली; प्रजापतीने तिला आपल्या मुखातून उत्पन्न झालेली कन्या म्हणून पाहिले।
