Strī-satkāra (On honoring women) — Mahābhārata 13.46
कुर्वाणं हि नरं कर्म पापं रहसि सर्वदा | पश्यन्ति ऋतवश्वापि तथा दिननिशे<प्युत,एकान्तमें पापकर्म करते हुए पुरुषको ऋतुएँ तथा रात-दिन सदा देखते रहते हैं
kurvāṇaṃ hi naraṃ karma pāpaṃ rahasi sarvadā | paśyanti ṛtavaś cāpi tathā dinaniśe 'py uta ||
विपुल म्हणाला—मनुष्य एकांतात पापकर्म करीत असला तरी तो कधीही अदृश्य नसतो; ऋतू तसेच दिवस-रात्र सदैव त्याला पाहत असतात. काळ-जगाच्या व्यवस्थेसमोर लपलेला अधर्मही साक्षीविना राहत नाही.
