न शोचितव्यं कौरव्य भवितव्यं हि तत् तथा । श्रुत॑ देवरहस्यं ते कृष्णद्वैघधायनादपि
na śocitavyaṃ kauravya bhavitavyaṃ hi tat tathā | śrutaṃ devarahasyaṃ te kṛṣṇadvaipāyanād api ||
भीष्म म्हणाले—हे कौरव्य, शोक करू नकोस. जे घडले ते तसेच घडणे अटळ होते. कृष्णद्वैपायन व्यासांकडून तू देवतांचे गूढ रहस्यही ऐकले आहेस—त्याच नियमानुसार या महायुद्धातील सर्व घटना घडल्या.
