पराक्रमैस्तेडपि तदा व्यघ्नन्नत्रिसुरक्षिता: । उद्धासितश्न सविता देवास्त्राता हतासुरा:
parākramais te ’pi tadā vyaghnaṁn atrisurakṣitāḥ | uddhāsitaś ca savitā devās trātā hatāsurāḥ ||
भीष्म म्हणाले— तेव्हा अत्रीच्या संरक्षणामुळे सुरक्षित झालेले देवही आपल्या पराक्रमाने शत्रूंना ठार करू लागले. सविता (सूर्य) पुन्हा दीप्तिमान झाला, देवांचा बचाव झाला आणि असुर नष्ट झाले. अत्रीच्या तपोतेजाने ते महान असुर दग्ध होताना पाहून, निर्भय देव उठून दैत्यांचा संहार करू लागले; अशा रीतीने धर्मयुक्त संरक्षण व अंतःतप पराक्रमाला सिद्धी देतात।
