कथितं त्वनयासत्यं गायत्रया कन्यया दिवि । विजेष्याम्यवशानू् सर्व ब्राद्मणांश्वर्मवासस:
kathitaṃ tv anayā satyaṃ gāyatrayā kanyayā divi | vijeṣyāmy avaśān sarvān brāhmaṇān carmavāsasaḥ |
अर्जुन म्हणाला—आकाशात स्थित गायत्री नावाच्या कन्येने ब्राह्मण क्षत्रियांपेक्षा श्रेष्ठ आहेत असे जे सांगितले, ते असत्य आहे. मृगचर्म धारण करणारे ते ब्राह्मण बहुतेक परावलंबी व विवश असतात; मी त्या सर्वांना जिंकून टाकीन. त्रैलोक्यात असा कोणताही देव वा मनुष्य नाही जो मला माझ्या राज्यातून ढळवू शकेल; म्हणून मी ब्राह्मणापेक्षाही श्रेष्ठ आहे.
