महेष्वासो महीभर्ता श्रीनिवास: सतां गति: । अनिरुद्ध: सुरानन्दो गोविन्दो गोविदां पति:
maheṣvāso mahībhartā śrīnivāsaḥ satāṃ gatiḥ | aniruddhaḥ surānando govindo govidāṃ patiḥ ||
भीष्म म्हणाले—तो महेष्वास—महान धनुर्धर; तो महीभर्ता—पृथ्वी धारण करणारा. तो श्रीनिवास—ज्याच्या वक्षःस्थळी श्रीचा निवास; तो सतां गति—सत्पुरुषांचा परम आश्रय. तो अनिरुद्ध—ज्याला कोणीही अडवू शकत नाही; तो सुरानंद—देवतांना आनंद देणारा. तो गोविंद—वेदवाणीने प्राप्त होणारा; आणि तो गोविदां पति—वेद जाणणाऱ्यांचा स्वामी.
