महाबुद्धिर्महावीरयों महाशक्तिर्महाद्युति: । अनिर्देश्यवपु: श्रीमानमेयात्मा महाद्विधृक्
bhīṣma uvāca | mahābuddhir mahāvīryo mahāśaktir mahādyutiḥ | anirdeśyavapuḥ śrīmān ameyātmā mahā-dvidhṛk ||
भीष्म म्हणाले—तो महाबुद्धी, महावीर्य; महाशक्ती व महाद्युतीने युक्त आहे. त्याचे रूप अनिर्देश्य—वाणीपलीकडचे; तो श्रीमान—दिव्य ऐश्वर्याने संपन्न. त्याचा आत्मस्वरूप अमेय—ज्याचे मोजमाप वा अनुमान होत नाही. आणि तो महाद्विधृक्—जगाच्या रक्षणासाठी महान पर्वत धारण करणारा; अमृतमंथनात मंदराचल आणि गो-रक्षणात गोवर्धन जसा धारण केला तसा.
