Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
अर्द्धमानाश्च विबुधा ग्रहेण सुबलीयसा । शिवदत्तवरान् जष्नुरसुरेन्द्रान सुरा भूशम्
arddhamānāś ca vibudhā graheṇa subalīyasā | śivadattavarān jaṣṇur asurendrān surā bhūśam ||
वासुदेव म्हणाले—अतिशय बलवान ग्रहाने देवांना छळायला सुरुवात केली तेव्हा देवता दबल्या असतानाही शिवाचे वर मिळवलेल्या असुरेंद्रांवर प्रहार करून त्यांना परास्त करू लागल्या; अशा रीतीने त्यांच्यात दीर्घकाळ युद्ध चालू राहिले।
