अन्नमूर्जस्करं लोके दत्त्वोर्जस्वी भवेन्नर: । सतां पन्थानमावृत्य सर्वपापै: प्रमुच्यते
annam ūrjaskaraṃ loke dattvā ūrjasvī bhavennaraḥ | satāṃ panthānam āvṛtya sarvapāpaiḥ pramucyate ||
या जगात अन्नच बल उत्पन्न करून वाढविते. म्हणून अन्नदान केल्याने मनुष्य तेजस्वी होतो; आणि सत्पुरुषांच्या मार्गाचा आश्रय घेतल्याने तो सर्व पापांपासून मुक्त होतो.

Food-giving (anna-dāna) is praised as a powerful ethical act that increases one’s vitality and merit; coupled with following the conduct of the virtuous, it leads to freedom from sin.
