समन्तपञ्चक-आख्यानम् तथा अक्षौहिणी-प्रमाणनिर्णयः

ह्वियमाणस्तु मन्दात्मा मोक्षितो5सौ किरीटिना | धर्मराजस्य चात्रैव मृगस्वप्ननिदर्शनम्‌,वे मन्दमति दुर्योधनको कैद करके लिये जा रहे थे कि अर्जुनने युद्ध करके उसे छुड़ा लिया। इसके बाद धर्मराज युधिष्ठिरको स्वप्नमें हरिणके दर्शन हुए

hviyamāṇas tu mandātmā mokṣito 'sau kirīṭinā | dharmarājasya cātraiva mṛgasvapnanidarśanam ||

तो मन्दात्मा (दुर्योधन) बंदी करून नेला जात असताना किरीटिन (अर्जुन) याने त्याला मुक्त केले. आणि येथेच धर्मराज (युधिष्ठिर) यांना स्वप्नात हरिण-दर्शनाचे निमित्तही झाले.
