तस्याथ कामधुग् धेनुर्वसिष्ठस्थ महात्मन: । उक्ता कामान् प्रयच्छेति सा कामान् दुह्मुते सदा,महात्मा वसिष्ठजीके यहाँ एक कामधेनु थी, जो “अमुक-अमुक मनोरथोंको पूर्ण करो' यह कहने-पर सदा उन-उन कामनाओं को पूर्ण कर दिया करती थी
tasyātha kāmadhug dhenur vasiṣṭhasya mahātmanaḥ | uktā kāmān prayaccheti sā kāmān duhmute sadā ||
त्यानंतर महात्मा वसिष्ठांकडे कामधेनु नावाची एक कामदुग्धा गाय होती. तिला जेव्हा म्हटले जाई—“इच्छित वस्तू दे”—तेव्हा ती नेहमी मागितलेल्या कामनांप्रमाणे पदार्थ दुहून देत असे.
