आस्तीककथाप्रारम्भः — Beginning of the Āstīka Narrative

सनाम्नीं चोद्यतां भार्या गृह्लीयामिति तस्य हि । मनो निविष्टमभवज्जरत्कारोर्महात्मन:,उन महात्मा जरत्कारुका मन इस बातपर स्थिर हो गया था कि मेरे-जैसे नामवाली कन्या यदि उपलब्ध हो तो उसीको पत्नीरूपमें ग्रहण करूँ:
sanāmnīṁ codyatāṁ bhāryā gṛhlīyām iti tasya hi | mano niviṣṭam abhavaj jaratkāror mahātmanaḥ ||
महात्मा जरत्कारूचे मन या निश्चयावर स्थिर झाले—“माझ्याच नावाची कन्या दिली गेली तर तिलाच मी पत्नी म्हणून स्वीकारीन.”
