Suta Goswami (narrating Shiva-puja procedure to the sages of Naimisharanya)
It specifies the naivedya (food-offering) standard in Linga-puja—pure, sattvic preparations (rice, mung, ghee) offered in set varieties—showing that disciplined upachara is a direct form of seva to Śiva as Pati.
Śiva is implied as Pati, the Lord who receives worship not from need but to uplift the pashu; the regulated offering becomes a means to purify the soul and weaken pasha (bondage) through devotion and right action.
A puja-vidhi element: naivedya with prescribed varieties and ghee—an external discipline aligned with Pashupata-oriented purification, supporting inner steadiness and sattva in worship.
