अथाभवन् दनोः पुत्रास्ताराद्या ह्यतिभीषणाः / तारस्तथा शम्बरश्च कपिलः शङ्करस्तथा / स्वर्भानुर्वृषपर्वा च प्राधान्येन प्रकीर्तिताः
athābhavan danoḥ putrāstārādyā hyatibhīṣaṇāḥ / tārastathā śambaraśca kapilaḥ śaṅkarastathā / svarbhānurvṛṣaparvā ca prādhānyena prakīrtitāḥ
त्यानंतर दनूचे अतिभीषण पुत्र तारा इत्यादी उत्पन्न झाले। त्यांतील प्रमुख म्हणून तारा, शंबर, कपिल, शंकर, स्वर्भानु आणि वृषपर्वा यांची कीर्ती केली जाते।

This verse is genealogical rather than doctrinal: it does not directly teach Ātman-metaphysics, but situates cosmic history (daiva/āsura lineages) that later frames dharma and liberation teachings elsewhere in the Kurma Purana.
No explicit Yoga practice is taught in this śloka; it functions as a catalogue of Daitya progeny. Yogic and Pāśupata-oriented teachings are emphasized more strongly in the Kurma Purana’s Upari-bhāga (including the Īśvara-gītā section).
It does not directly address Śiva–Viṣṇu unity; the name “Śaṅkara” here is a Daitya-personal name in a lineage list, not a theological identification of Lord Śiva. The synthesis becomes explicit in later doctrinal passages of the text.
