अलेह्यलेहस्य च तत्स्वभावः पातुं त्वपेयस्य च तत्स्वभावः / द्वयोः स्वरूपं च विहाय मूढः पुनः पुनः स्वीकरोत्येव नित्यम्

जे चाटण्यायोग्य आहे त्याचे न चाटणे हाच त्याचा स्वभाव; आणि जे पिण्यायोग्य नाही त्याचे न पिणे हाच त्याचा स्वभाव. तरीही दोन्हींचे खरे स्वरूप न ओळखता, मोहग्रस्त मनुष्य तेच पुन्हा पुन्हा नित्य स्वीकारतो.
