सूत उवाच नमो धर्माय महते नम: कृष्णाय वेधसे । ब्रह्मणेभ्यो नमस्कृत्य धर्मान् वक्ष्ये सनातनान् ॥ १ ॥

सूत म्हणाला: परम धर्म—भक्तीसेवा—यास नमस्कार, सृष्टिकर्ता भगवान् कृष्णास नमस्कार; आणि सर्व ब्राह्मणांना प्रणाम करून मी आता सनातन धर्मतत्त्वे सांगीन।
