तं विलोक्य बृहत्कायं भिन्नाञ्जनचयोपमम् । तप्तताम्रशिखाश्मश्रुं दंष्ट्रोग्रभ्रुकुटीमुखम् ॥ ३ ॥ सस्मार मूषलं राम: परसैन्यविदारणम् । हलं च दैत्यदमनं ते तूर्णमुपतस्थतु: ॥ ४ ॥

taṁ vilokya bṛhat-kāyaṁ bhinnāñjana-cayopamam tapta-tāmra-śikhā-śmaśruṁ daṁṣṭrogra-bhru-kuṭī-mukham

Translation

तो प्रचंड राक्षस काळ्या काजळाच्या ढिगाऱ्यासारखा दिसत होता. त्याची शेंडी आणि दाढी वितळलेल्या तांब्यासारखी होती आणि त्याचा चेहरा भयानक दात आणि आक्रसलेल्या भुवयांनी युक्त होता. त्याला पाहून भगवान बलरामांनी शत्रूंच्या सैन्याचा नाश करणाऱ्या आपल्या मुसळाचे आणि राक्षसांना शिक्षा देणाऱ्या आपल्या नांगराचे स्मरण केले. अशा प्रकारे आवाहन केल्यावर, त्यांची दोन्ही शस्त्रे तत्काळ त्यांच्यासमोर प्रकट झाली.
