Raivata and Cākṣuṣa Manvantaras; Brahmā’s Prayers at Śvetadvīpa
Prelude to Samudra-manthana
vibhur indraḥ sura-gaṇā rājan bhūtarayādayaḥ hiraṇyaromā vedaśirā ūrdhvabāhv-ādayo dvijāḥ
The verse lists Indra, Vibhū, groups of demigods, and sages such as Bhūtarayā, Hiraṇyaromā, Vedaśirā, and Ūrdhvabāhu, indicating a collective assembly of devas and brāhmaṇas.
In this chapter, the devas seek higher shelter and guidance; their gathering with brāhmaṇa sages emphasizes that divine power is supported by spiritual wisdom and prayer to the Supreme Lord.
When facing crisis, seek counsel from spiritually grounded guides and take shelter of sincere prayer—combining responsible action with humility and higher dependence.
