etat payo-vrataṁ nāma puruṣārādhanaṁ param pitāmahenābhihitaṁ mayā te samudāhṛtam

हे ‘पयोव्रत’ नावाचे परम पुरुषाच्या आराधनेचे श्रेष्ठ व्रत आहे. हे मला माझ्या पितामह ब्रह्मांनी सांगितले, आणि तेच मी तुला सविस्तर सांगितले आहे।
