Sukta 117
इहैव सन्तः प्रति दद्म एनज्जीवा जीवेभ्यो नि हराम एनत्। अपमित्य धान्यं१ यज्जघसाहमिदं तदग्ने अनृणो भवामि
iháiva sántaḥ práti dadmá enaj jīvā́ jīvébhyo ní harāma enat | apamítya dhā́nyam yáj jaghā́sā́ham idáṃ tád agne anṛṇó bhavāmi
Here, even here, while yet we live, we pay it back; we living render to the living, and wholly bear away this burden. O Misfortune—this grain which I have eaten—therewith, O Agni, for that very cause, I become discharged from debt.
इथेच—याच लोकात—आपण जिवंत असतानाच हे परत देतो; जिवंत आम्ही जिवंतांना (त्यांचा) हिस्सा अर्पण करतो आणि हा भार पूर्णपणे उतरवतो. हे अपमित्य (दुर्दैव/अमंगळ)! मी जे धान्य खाल्ले आहे—त्याच्याच द्वारे, हे अग्ने, त्याच कारणाने मी ऋणमुक्त (अनृण) होतो.
