Sukta 81
यद् द्याव इन्द्र ते शतं शतं भूमिरुत स्युः । न त्वा वज्रिन्त्सहस्रं सूर्या अनु न जातमष्ट रोदसी
yád dyā́va indra te śatáṃ śatáṃ bhū́mir utá syúḥ | ná tvā vajrin sahásraṃ sū́ryā ánu ná jātám aṣṭá ródasī ||
Though there were for thee, O Indra, a hundred and a hundred heavens, and earths likewise—yet should not a thousand suns in succession match thee, O Vajrin, nor what is born within the two worlds.
हे इंद्रा! तुझ्यासाठी शंभर-शंभर आकाशे आणि तशीच शंभर-शंभर पृथ्वीही असल्या, तरी हे वज्रिन्! क्रमाने उगवणारे हजार सूर्यही तुला समकक्ष ठरणार नाहीत; आणि द्यावा–पृथिवी या दोन लोकांत जे काही जन्मते, तेही तुझ्या बरोबरीचे नाही.
