त्वमिन्द्र शर्मरिणा हव्यं पारावतेभ्यः । विप्राय स्तुवते वसुवनिं दुरश्रवसे वह
tvám índra śárma-riṇā havyáṃ pārā́vatebhyaḥ | víprāya stuvaté vásu-vaníṃ dur-aśraváse vaha ||
Thou, Indra, who repayest with shelter, bring hither the oblation from far away; bring wealth-winning to the singer as he praiseth thee—yea, to him whose fame is hard to win.
हे इन्द्रा, जो आश्रय देऊन प्रतिदान करतोस, दूरवरूनही हव्य (आहुती) इथे आण. स्तुती करणाऱ्या विप्रासाठी, तुझे गुणगान करणाऱ्यासाठी, धन-प्राप्ती घडवणारी ‘वसु-वनि’ (समृद्धी) आण—ज्याची कीर्ती मिळवणे कठीण आहे त्याच्यासाठीही.
