सुदेवो असि वरुण यस्य ते सप्त सिन्धवः । अनुक्षरन्ति काकुदं सूर्यं सुषिरामिव

IAST Transliteration

sudévo asi varuṇa yásya te saptá síndhavaḥ | anukṣáranti kākúdaṃ sū́ryaṃ suṣirā́m iva

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

A gracious God art thou, O Varuṇa, whose seven rivers flow in ordered course; they follow on the ridge, the Sun, as waters well-channelled.

Translation

हे वरुणा, तू सु-देव आहेस; ज्याच्या अधीन तुझे सात सिंधू (नद्या) क्रमाने वाहतात. त्या काकुद (काठ/कड) धरून सूर्याचा पाठपुरावा करतात—जसे नीट आखलेल्या नाल्यांतून वाहणारे पाणी।
