Sukta 45
ākṣv ékaṃ maṇím ékaṃ kṛṣṇuṣva snā́hy ékena píbáikam eṣām | catúrvīraṃ nairṛtébhyaś catúrbhyo grā́hyā bandhébhyaḥ pári pātv asmā́n ||
Smear on one; one amulet make thou black; with one thereof bathe, and of these drink thou one. May the fourfold-guarded (charm) protect us round about from the Nairṛta powers, from the fourfold seizings, from the bonds that bind.
Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (late AV compilation context)
Devata: Maṇi/Charm as operative power; anti-Nirṛti protection; implicitly the Grahas (seizers) as adversaries
Chandas: Late Anuṣṭubh-like; metrical confirmation requires pada-length check against edition
{"primary_rasa":"bhayankara","secondary_rasa":"shanta","emotional_arc":"From confronting seizers/bonds to being encircled by protection.","listener_experience":"Initial seriousness about danger, ending in relief and containment.","intensity":7}
