Sukta 2

शं त आपो धन्वन्याः३ शं ते सन्त्वनूप्याः । शं ते खनित्रिमा आपः शं याः कुम्भेभिराभृताः

śáṃ te ā́po dhanvanyā́ḥ śáṃ te santv anūpyā́ḥ | śáṃ te khanitrímā ā́paḥ śáṃ yā́ḥ kúmbhebhir ā́bhṛtā́ḥ

Welfare be to thee from the waters of the waste; welfare be to thee from the waters of the marsh. Welfare be to thee from the waters dug forth; welfare from those that are brought in jars.

धन्व (उजाड/कोरड्या) प्रदेशातील पाणी तुझ्यासाठी कल्याणकारी ठरो; अनूप (दलदली/ओलसर) प्रदेशातील पाणीही तुझ्यासाठी कल्याणकारी ठरो. खणून काढलेले पाणी तुझ्यासाठी कल्याणकारी ठरो; आणि कुंभांत भरून आणलेले पाणीही तुझ्यासाठी कल्याणकारी ठरो.
