Dīpadāna-vrata (The Vow of Offering Lamps)
भगवान अग्नी दीपदान-व्रत भुक्ती व मुक्ती देणारे सांगतात. देवालयात किंवा ब्राह्मणाच्या घरी वर्षभर दीप लावल्यास सर्वसमृद्धी मिळते; विशेषतः चातुर्मास्य व कार्तिकात याचे पुण्य सर्वोच्च असून विष्णुलोकप्राप्ती व स्वर्गीय भोग देणारे आहे. पुढे ललितेच्या कथेत विष्णुमंदिरातील दीपाशी संबंधित एक अनाहूत कृतीही महाफळदायी ठरून तिला राजकुळात पुनर्जन्म व दाम्पत्यसमृद्धी मिळाली. दीपचोरीची तीव्र निंदा—मूक/जड जन्म व अंधकार-नरकात पतन. इंद्रियभोग, दुष्काम व परस्त्रीगमन टाळून हरिनामजप व साधे अर्पण, विशेषतः दीपदान, करण्याचा उपदेश आहे. शेवटी दीपदान सर्व व्रतांचे फल वाढवते आणि हे श्रवण-अनुष्ठान केल्यास ऊर्ध्वगती होते असे प्रतिपादन आहे.
