Related Themes: Agni Purana 259 (Sūrya-upāsanā within pūjā-vidhi)
It teaches a practical Surya-upasana procedure: daily recitation of a specific Sun-mantra (“asau yaḥ tāmraḥ …”) while formally attending upon (upasthāna) the Sun at both twilight times—morning and evening—with sustained attentiveness.
Alongside its many subjects, the Agni Purana preserves concise, actionable ritual protocols (puja-vidhi). This verse functions like a handbook instruction for daily worship discipline, integrating mantra, timing (prātaḥ/sāyam), and correct devotional posture (upatiṣṭheta).
Regular, vigilant worship of the Sun at the prescribed times is presented as a dharmic daily observance that supports purity, steadiness in practice, and accumulation of religious merit through disciplined mantra-recitation.
