Sage Parāśara (teaching Maitreya)
This verse treats prāṇa and apāna as the two primary vital airs whose disciplined alternation becomes the foundation for deeper yogic control leading toward liberation.
He frames saṃyama as the restraining and balancing of both prāṇa and apāna; from their controlled interaction a “third” regulated current/state is said to arise.
In Ansha 6 the yogic method is presented as a means of inner purification and steadiness, preparing the practitioner for realization of Vishnu as the supreme ground of order and liberation.
