Sage Parāśara (narrating to Maitreya)
Speaker: Parasara
Teaching: Historical
Quality: narrative
In this verse, Yamunā is addressed directly as a living, sacred divine presence—showing how holy geography in the Vishnu Purana participates in the Lord’s līlā and becomes a focus for devotion.
Parāśara narrates Krishna’s emotionally charged, playful moment—his agitation and command to bathe—highlighting līlā where the Supreme Lord acts in human-like intimacy without losing divine sovereignty.
Krishna’s simple wish becomes an expression of supreme lordship within līlā: the Absolute (Vishnu) engages the world lovingly, making devotion and sacred places like Yamunā central to spiritual life.
