Naadbindu

सहस्रार्णमतीवात्र मन्त्र एष प्रदर्शितः । एवमेतां समारूढो हंसयोगविचक्षणः ॥

न भिद्यते कर्मजैः पापकोटिशतैरपि । आग्नेयी प्रथमा मात्रा वायव्येषा तथापरा ॥

भानुमण्डलसंकाशा भवेन्मात्रा तथोत्तरा । परमा चार्धमात्रा या वारुणीं तां विदुर्बुधाः ॥५-७॥

सहस्र-अर्णम् अतीव अत्र । मन्त्रः एषः प्रदर्शितः । एवम् एताम् समारूढः हंस-योग-विचक्षणः ।

न भिद्यते कर्म-जैः पाप-कोटि-शतैः अपि । आग्नेयी प्रथमा मात्रा । वायव्य-एषा तथा अपरा ।

भानु-मण्डल-संकाशा भवेत् मात्रा तथा उत्तरा । परमा च अर्ध-मात्रा या । वारुणीम् ताम् विदुः बुधाः ॥५-७॥

sahasrārṇam atīvātra mantra eṣa pradarśitaḥ | evam etāṃ samārūḍho haṃsayogavicakṣaṇaḥ ||

na bhidyate karmajaiḥ pāpakoṭiśatair api | āgneyī prathamā mātrā vāyavyeṣā tathāparā ||

bhānumaṇḍalasaṅkāśā bhaven mātrā tathottarā | paramā cārdhamātrā yā vāruṇīṃ tāṃ vidur budhāḥ ||5-7||

ഇവിടെ സഹസ്രാക്ഷരമഹാമന്ത്രം വ്യക്തമായി പ്രതിപാദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ഇങ്ങനെ അതിൽ ആരൂഢനായ ഹംസയോഗവിചക്ഷണനായ সাধകൻ, കർമജന്യമായ പാപങ്ങളുടെ കോടി-ശതങ്ങളാലും ഭേദിക്കപ്പെടുകയില്ല. ആദ്യമാത്ര അഗ്നിമയം; അടുത്തത് വായുമയം. തുടർന്ന് വരുന്ന മാത്ര സൂര്യമണ്ഡലസദൃശമായി പ്രകാശിക്കുന്നു. പരമമായ അർദ്ധമാത്രയെ ജ്ഞാനികൾ ‘വാരുണീ’ എന്നു അറിയുന്നു.

Here the mantra of a thousand syllables is indeed set forth. Having thus mounted it, the adept skilled in Haṃsa-yoga is not pierced even by hundreds of crores of sins born of actions. The first mātrā is fiery; the next is airy. The subsequent mātrā is like the orb of the sun. And the supreme half-mātrā—wise men know that as ‘vāruṇī’.
