Naadbindu
आदौ जलधिमूतभेरीनिर्झरसम्भवः । मध्ये मर्दलशब्दाभो घण्टाकाहलजस्तथा ॥ अन्ते तु किङ्किणीवंशवीणाभ्रमरनिःस्वनः । इति नानाविधा नादाः श्रूयन्ते सूक्ष्मसूक्ष्मतः ॥३५॥
आदौ । जलधि-मूत-भेरी-निर्झर-सम्भवः । मध्ये । मर्दल-शब्द-आभः । घण्टा-काहल-जः । तथा । अन्ते । तु । किङ्किणी-वंश-वीणा-भ्रमर-निःस्वनः । इति । नाना-विधाः । नादाः । श्रूयन्ते । सूक्ष्म-सूक्ष्मतः ।
ādau jaladhi-mūta-bherī-nirjhara-sambhavaḥ | madhye mardala-śabdābho ghaṇṭā-kāhalajas tathā || ante tu kiṅkiṇī-vaṃśa-vīṇā-bhramara-niḥsvanaḥ | iti nānāvidhā nādāḥ śrūyante sūkṣma-sūkṣmataḥ ||35||
ആദ്യത്തിൽ (അന്തര്നാദം) സമുദ്രം, മേഘം, ഭേരി, നീർഝരം എന്നിവയിൽ നിന്നുയരുന്ന ധ്വനിപോലെ; മദ്ധ്യത്തിൽ അത് മൃദംഗശബ്ദസദൃശം, കൂടാതെ ഘണ്ടയും കാഹളവും (തുര്യ) ഉളവാക്കുന്ന നാദംപോലെയും. അവസാനം കിങ്കിണി (പാദഘണ്ട), വംശി, വീണ, ഭ്രമരഗുഞ്ജനം എന്നിവയുടെ പ്രതിധ്വനിപോലെ. ഇങ്ങനെ വ്യത്യസ്ത നാദങ്ങൾ കൂടുതൽ കൂടുതൽ സൂക്ഷ്മമായി ശ്രവിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.
In the beginning (the sound is) like that arising from the ocean, clouds, kettle-drums, and waterfalls; in the middle it resembles the sound of a mṛdaṅga; likewise it is produced like bells and trumpets. At the end it is the resonance of anklets, flute, vīṇā, and the humming of bees. Thus, diverse nādas are heard, increasingly subtle.
