विधाय लेखनीं कर्णे चित्रगुप्तो यमाज्ञया । ततो हूता गणाः सर्वे ये नीता धरणीतलात्
vidhāya lekhanīṃ karṇe citragupto yamājñayā | tato hūtā gaṇāḥ sarve ye nītā dharaṇītalāt
യമന്റെ ആജ്ഞപ്രകാരം ചിത്രഗുപ്തൻ കർണ്ണത്തിൽ ലേഖനി വെച്ചു (എഴുതാൻ സന്നദ്ധനായി) നിന്നു. തുടർന്ന് ഭൂതലത്തിൽ നിന്ന് കൊണ്ടുവന്ന എല്ലാ ഗണങ്ങളെയും വിളിച്ചു കൂട്ടി.
