ईश्वर उवाच । ततो गच्छेन्महादेवि लिंगं त्रैलोक्यविश्रुतम् । तत्र शंकरनाथेति प्रसिद्धं पापनाशनम्
īśvara uvāca | tato gacchenmahādevi liṃgaṃ trailokyaviśrutam | tatra śaṃkaranātheti prasiddhaṃ pāpanāśanam
ഈശ്വരൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു—ഹേ മഹാദേവീ! തുടർന്ന് ത്രിലോകത്തിലും പ്രസിദ്ധമായ ആ ലിംഗത്തിലേക്ക് പോകണം. അവിടെ അത് ‘ശങ്കരനാഥൻ’ എന്ന പേരിൽ പ്രശസ്തം; പാപനാശകൻ।
