gopyaṃ yatpātakaṃ puṃsāṃ gomatī tadvyapohati | smaraṇātkīrttanādvāpi kiṃ punaḥ plavane kṛte
Sūta (deduced from Prabhāsa-khaṇḍa māhātmya narration context)
Tirtha: Gomatī
Type: river
Scene: Pilgrims at the Gomatī ghāṭ: some singing her praise, others immersing; the water is depicted as luminous, washing away dark ‘hidden’ stains that dissolve into light.
Sacred waters and sacred remembrance both purify; direct ritual contact intensifies the purificatory merit.
The Gomati tīrtha at/near Dvārakā, praised as a remover of even concealed sins.
Plavana (bathing/immersion) in the Gomati; also smaraṇa and kīrtana of the tīrtha.
