śrīprahlāda uvāca | śivaligamalaṃghyaṃ hi buddhipūrvaṃ hato hyaham | uvāca kṛṣṇaṃ danujaśchalito'haṃ tvayā'nagha
Śrī Prahlāda (as named in the verse)
Tirtha: Dvārakā-kṣetra (with Kuśeśvara-liṅga context)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Purāṇic audience within Dvārakāmāhātmya frame (implied)
Scene: Prahlāda narrates; the daitya, chastened, addresses Kṛṣṇa with folded hands, admitting he transgressed the inviolable Śiva-liṅga and was therefore slain; the mood is penitential and instructive.
Deliberate disrespect to sacred symbols (liṅga) is portrayed as spiritually ruinous, while acknowledgement and humility open the way to grace.
Dvārakā is the māhātmya setting; the liṅga connected with this episode becomes part of Dvārakā’s sacred topography.
No formal rite is prescribed, but a clear dharmic rule is implied: do not transgress or dishonor the Śiva-liṅga.
