तदा कृतो महेशेन पार्षदो हि महात्मना । चंडो नाम्नाच विख्यातोमुण्डस्य च सखा प्रियः
tadā kṛto maheśena pārṣado hi mahātmanā | caṃḍo nāmnāca vikhyātomuṇḍasya ca sakhā priyaḥ
അപ്പോൾ മഹാത്മാവായ മഹേശൻ അവനെ പാർഷദ-ഗണമായി നിയമിച്ചു. അവൻ ‘ചണ്ഡ’ എന്ന നാമത്തിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധനായി, മുണ്ഡന്റെ പ്രിയസഖാവും ആയി।
