शिव उवाच । सत्यमुक्तं त्वया चात्र नान्यथा नारदक्वचित् । योषित्संगतिमात्रेण नृणां पतनमेव च
śiva uvāca | satyamuktaṃ tvayā cātra nānyathā nāradakvacit | yoṣitsaṃgatimātreṇa nṛṇāṃ patanameva ca
ശിവൻ പറഞ്ഞു— “ഇവിടെ നീ പറഞ്ഞത് സത്യം; ഹേ നാരദാ, ഒരിക്കലും മറ്റഥയല്ല. സ്ത്രീവിഷയാസക്തിയാൽ ഉണ്ടായ സങ്കേതമാത്രം കൊണ്ടും മനുഷ്യർക്കു പതനം തന്നെയാകുന്നു.”
