तदाम्बिकाह स्वपतिं महेशं मया जितोऽस्यद्य न विस्मयोऽत्र । एवमुक्त्वा तदा शंभुं करे गृह्य वरानना । जितोऽसि त्वं न संदेहस्त्वं न जानासि शंकर
tadāmbikāha svapatiṃ maheśaṃ mayā jito'syadya na vismayo'tra | evamuktvā tadā śaṃbhuṃ kare gṛhya varānanā | jito'si tvaṃ na saṃdehastvaṃ na jānāsi śaṃkara
അപ്പോൾ അംബിക തന്റെ ഭർത്താവ് മഹേശനോട് പറഞ്ഞു—“ഇന്ന് ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ജയിച്ചു; ഇതിൽ അത്ഭുതമില്ല.” ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞ് വരാനനയായ ദേവി ശംഭുവിന്റെ കൈ പിടിച്ച് പറഞ്ഞു—“നീ പരാജിതൻ, സംശയമില്ല; ഹേ ശങ്കരാ, നീ അറിയുന്നില്ല.”
