एवं संयुध्यमानौ तौ जघ्नतुश्चेतरेतरम् । द्वंद्वयुद्धं सुतुमुलं तयोर्जातं महात्मनोः
evaṃ saṃyudhyamānau tau jaghnatuścetaretaram | dvaṃdvayuddhaṃ sutumulaṃ tayorjātaṃ mahātmanoḥ
ഇങ്ങനെ യുദ്ധം ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്ന അവർ രണ്ടുപേരും വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും പരസ്പരം പ്രഹരിച്ചു; ആ മഹാത്മാക്കളുടെയിടയിൽ അതിതുമുലമായ ദ്വന്ദ്വയുദ്ധം ഉദിച്ചു।
