tadā prahasya covāca mātaraṃ prati pārvatī | pratijñāṃ śrṛṇu me mātastapasā parameṇa hi
Pārvatī
Tirtha: Kedāra / Kedāranātha
Type: kshetra
Listener: Śaunaka and the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya (typical frame)
Scene: Pārvatī, smiling yet firm, addresses her mother with a solemn vow; the Himalayan backdrop suggests cold air, pine and rock, and a distant Śiva-kṣetra aura.
A clear vow (pratijñā/saṅkalpa) supported by disciplined tapas is presented as a powerful spiritual method.
Kedāra is the implied locus, where Pārvatī’s tapas becomes part of the site’s Mahātmya.
The verse indicates tapas and vow-taking (vrata-like resolve), without specifying a particular external ritual.
