महेन्द्र मुद्दिश्य तदा ह्युपहाससमन्वितः । अक्षमाश्च वयं सर्वे महेन्द्रेण कृताः सुराः
mahendra muddiśya tadā hyupahāsasamanvitaḥ | akṣamāśca vayaṃ sarve mahendreṇa kṛtāḥ surāḥ
അപ്പോൾ മഹേന്ദ്രൻ (ഇന്ദ്രൻ)നെ നോക്കി മൃദുവായ പരിഹാസത്തോടെ അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു—“നാം എല്ലാ ദേവന്മാരും അശക്തരായിരിക്കുന്നു; മഹേന്ദ്രനാണ് നമ്മെ ഇങ്ങനെ ആക്കിയത്.”
