मा प्रयाहि स्थिरो भूत्वा देवैश्च परिवारितः । एव मुक्तस्तु वृत्रेण शक्रोऽतीव रुषान्वितः । ऐरावतं समारुह्य ययौ वृत्रजिघांसया
mā prayāhi sthiro bhūtvā devaiśca parivāritaḥ | eva muktastu vṛtreṇa śakro'tīva ruṣānvitaḥ | airāvataṃ samāruhya yayau vṛtrajighāṃsayā
ദേവന്മാർ ചുറ്റിനിന്നപ്പോൾ—“പോകരുത്, സ്ഥിരനായി നിൽക്കുക”—എന്ന് വൃത്രൻ പറഞ്ഞു. വൃത്രൻ വിട്ടയച്ച ശക്രൻ അത്യന്തം ക്രോധത്തോടെ നിറഞ്ഞു; ഐരാവതത്തിൽ കയറി വൃത്രവധാഭിലാഷത്തോടെ പുറപ്പെട്ടു.
